SC EPFP Co-Coordinator Tom F. Hudson named to the Advisory Board of the SECC at AIR

South Carolina Education Policy Fellowship Program (SC-EPFP) Co-Coordinator Tom F. Hudson (EPFP ’11-’12) has been named by SC State Superintendent of Education Molly M. Spearman to the Advisory Board of the Southeast Comprehensive Center (SECC) at the American Institutes of Research (AIR).

The SECC Advisory Board is tasked with providing advice on strategies for monitoring and addressing the educational needs of the region, maintaining a high standard of quality for SECC’s activities, and carrying out SECC’s duties to promote progress toward improving student achievement in the Southeastern US.

Hudson is Executive Director of the SC School Improvement Council (SC-SIC) within the University of South Carolina College of Education’s Center for Educational Partnerships, where he has served since 2007. Prior to joining SC-SIC (which provides training, assistance, and resources to the 1,200-plus local SIC community advisory bodies mandated by law for each of the state’s K-12 public schools), Hudson had a 25-year career in communications, public information, and media/constituent relations in the public, private, and education sectors.
