Education Policy Fellowship Program Communications Internship

Join a small but mighty team to support top-notch leadership development at a well-established education nonprofit!

The Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL) is seeking a communications-focused leadership program intern who will work on the organization’s distinguished Education Policy Fellowship Program (EPFP). The intern will support the National Director of EPFP and the EPFP Program Coordinator as a full team member. The internship is based on a 20 hour weekly schedule. Start and end dates for the internship are flexible, depending on the intern’s availability.

This position is a great opportunity for someone with a communications background and/or strong interest in one or more of the following disciplines: organizational and leadership development, business administration and management, education, and public policy.

Interns are given the opportunity to participate in a range of events, hearings, and learning opportunities throughout the program and will earn minimum wage.

Responsibilities May Include
• Writing and editing program materials and services for our national EPFP network.
• Managing social media outreach and communications to our networks and alumni.
• Design pages for the EPFP website and engage in contact data management.
• Complete other appropriate duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Strong organizational skills
• Outstanding writing and editing skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and can-do attitude
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and problem solve
• Proficiency with the Microsoft products
• Competence with social media tools: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn
