Jodi Lewis is Communications Director and Policy Analyst at EdInsights. In her research and policy role, she focuses on K-12 and postsecondary policy and initiatives to improve college and career readiness. A few recent projects have included studying implications of K-12 reform on college and career readiness (Common Core State Standards, professional learning for high school teachers); and examining policies and practices to support student transfer from community colleges to California State Universities (CSU). Jodi focuses on promoting opportunities for collaboration within and across K-12 and postsecondary systems and institutions.

In her communications role, Jodi helps make EdInsights’ work accessible and relevant to the policymaking community through publications, newsletters, website, social media, and relationships. Jodi brings experience in public affairs—as well as the perspective of a parent—to her work in education policy.

Jodi holds a master’s degree in Public Policy & Administration (with a Certificate in Collaborative Governance) from California State University, Sacramento and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and English from Mount St. Mary's College.

Terra Thorne is the LegiSchool Project Director at the Center for California Studies. As Director of LegiSchool, she provides civic education opportunities to hundreds of California students each year. LegiSchool programs center primarily on engaging students in matters of public policy and state government and connecting students and state leaders to meet and share ideas on the problem affecting Californians.

Through her work, Terra has gained experience with all three branches of government and works regularly with K-12 educators from around the state. She holds a master’s degree in Public Policy & Administration from California State University, Sacramento and a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Seattle University.
