NCWD/Youth & IEL, to Host Community Learning Exchange
December 11-14, 2014

NCWD/Youth and our host or
g, IEL, are hosting a Community Learning Exchange (CLE) entitled Lead On: Igniting Youth Voice, Promoting Youth Choice. The CLE is not a conference, but rather, an opportunity for community teachers, leaders, and activists of all ages and stages to come together for deep, shared learning.

“Lead On” is a phrase commonly used by the disability community when advocating for civil rights issues. The phrase was popularized by Justin Dart, Jr., often known as the father of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the godfather of the disability rights movement. As a testament to Dart’s legacy, and NCWD/Youth’s long history of developing youth leaders, the Lead On CLE will bring together youth with disabilities and their peer and adult allies in efforts to increase youth voice.

IEL is seeking teams of 3-5 youth and adults (including those with disabilities, family members and/or caring adults, and youth service professionals) to register for the CLE which will take place December 11-14 on the campus of Gallaudet University in Washington, DC.
More information on this CLE and the registration form are available online.
