Dear EPFP Alum,

In continuing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Education Policy Fellowship Program (EPFP), IEL is looking to the future and considering how we can strengthen the program for its more than 8,000 alumni and for the thousands of new fellows that will be partaking in this unique leadership development experience in the next 50 years.

In this context, IEL is pleased to welcome Shaina Cook as the new EPFP program coordinator. Shaina will work closely with Dr. Helen Janc Malone, National EPFP Director to support EPFP sites, strengthen fellow and alumni connections, and to grow and develop EPFP. She will also support the planning of EPFP’s hallmark program, the Washington Policy Seminar.

Shaina is a proud EPFP alum and participated in the Washington, DC, cohort in 2012-2013. Most recently, she was a project manager at CommunicationWorks, a public affairs and strategic communications firm in Washington that focuses on education issues, and brings more than three years of communications, partnership development, and event management experience to her new role. Shaina graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a bachelor’s degree in communication and minors in English and political science.

Please join me in welcoming Shaina to the EPFP family. Good wishes may be sent to cooks@iel.org. As always, I welcome your feedback about EPFP and others aspects of IEL's work.

Cordially,

Martin J. Blank
President, IEL
