Congratulations to Dan Schultz (MI EPFP Coordinator, EPFP '76-77)!

Dan Schultz will be recognized as the recipient of the 2018 Michigan Reading Association Advocacy Award. The awards ceremony and reception will take place on March 17, 2018 as part of MRA's annual conference in Detroit, but Dan will be attending WPS, so the MRA President-Elect and EPFP alum, Carol Paul will accept on his behalf. Past recipients include Dr. Nell Duke (2016) and State Representative Adam Zemke (2017).

The Michigan Reading Association created the Advocacy Award to recognize a person that advocates for literacy on behalf of children and adults across the state. Dan’s work with the Michigan Education Policy Fellowship Program (EPFP) has resulted in providing educators the skills and knowledge necessary to be advocates for education. Many of those that have participated in the EPFP are represented on the board of the Michigan Reading Association and literacy work groups across Michigan.
