Morgan State University is officially launching the Maryland Education Policy Fellowship Program (Maryland EPFP). The National EPFP, sponsored by the Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL), has been in existence since 1964 and has site locations across the nation.  The EPFP at Morgan will be the first site based in Maryland.

We hosted a launch breakfast  about the inaugural year. This event took place on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.  It was held in the Center for the Built Environment and Infrastructure Studies (CBEIS) Building at Morgan State University.  During the event, we provided an overview of the program, explained the application process, and answered questions that enabled interested partners to make an informed decision about colleagues you might support in their application to the program.

The Maryland EPFP is a 10 month professional development experience in the areas of leadership development, policy analysis, and policy implementation. The three pillars of the program are: policy, leadership, and networking.  Accordingly, our target population includes mid-level professionals and graduate students with an interest in education policy and related issues.  Given our pillars and the target population, participants complete the program better informed and prepared to make contributions in the workplace. Sessions include seminar style discussion with knowledgeable professionals working in education policy and leadership.

Because our goal is to recruit a talented, professionally diverse cohort, we would like your assistance in a few capacities. First, we would like you to nominate/support strong candidates from your organization. Additionally, we would like you to share information about our launch event with colleagues who function in a decision-making capacity. Furthermore, we are interested in discussing potential collaborations for future programming.

Thank you to all who joined us to celebrate the launch of this exciting program!
