Since 1976, the Massachusetts EPFP has served over 400 individuals seeking to enhance their leadership and public policy knowledge and skills in education and related fields. Fellows are drawn from a variety of fields, including school principals and other school personnel, state and district leaders, and representatives of non-profit organizations. The program is organized around three major elements:

Leadership: Through the EPFP experience, fellows learn about their own leadership style as well as models of leadership prominent in the education and human services fields.

Public Policy: Fellows gain an understanding of the public policy context and process at the local, state, and national levels, including how they can impact policymaking.

Building Professional Networks: Fellows have numerous opportunities to connect with other EPFP participants in Massachusetts as well as fellows in other state EPFP sites, facilitating information-sharing and career advancement.
